It doesn’t work for me too. Same error -
Hi, I am facing the same error! Could you perhaps look into not making logging in compulsory until this issue is resolved?
Same issue for me, is there any ETA on a fix or workarounds? Also Free user, but I didn’t get hit with the paywall. It just stopped letting me edit code in the middle of the React course
Edit: I just upgraded to Pro to test, same bug even after relogging.
@SHIVAM_SRIVASTAVA @Wasim_Akram: confirming, are you guys getting the 'contains'
error? I think it’s more work to make logging in not mandatory so we’re trying to hammer down on a resolution. This contains error should have been fixed with this recent update but seems not.. Could you guys check if signing in with another account still throws this error? I think there’s something going on with certain accounts since not everyone experiences this.
@bizzanteen: Are you also getting the 'contains'
error and this ready 'tools'
, or just ready 'tools'
?
I’m getting the same error. If I log out of my account the issue fixes itself, but when i log in I get the “TypeError: Cannot read properties of undefined (reading ‘contains’)”.
I tried clearing the cookies but it doesn’t work…
Same issue for me.
It’s been roughly 2 weeks since the issue started. I’m in the middle of the “Advanced React” course with Bob Ziroll. The mini browser and console is blank when both when the lesson is happening and when I work on a challenge.
Respectfully, it’s not really the best way to learn by just typing solutions and constantly clicking the solution submit for the AI to give to an answer if it’s correct or not. I find I learn better when I can test different solutions using the mini browser and console.
@roku I only got the contains error. For some reason, it seems to work when I switch from Windows 11 to MacOS.
Edit: This is actually no longer the case, I get the same error on Mac now. However, I’m still able to complete the tasks.
It seems this bug is pretty much alive and still happening in a frustrating frequency, when I log off the account I’m able to watch the video, but when I’m logged in this happens:
I’ve disabled all extensions and the bug still happens, even tried on Chrome (I use Firefox as main browser) the only difference is the error message. I was waiting for the backend courses to be released to buy a PRO subscription again, bought it twice while using other account in the past, I’m really reconsidering it after this frustrating bug.
I’ve tried Scrimba AI Assistant (https://scrimba.helpscoutdocs.com/), and it only answered with generic answers “change browser, clear cache, restart browser/computer”, none of which worked. Would love to see an actual solution to this problem that’s almost 3 months old.
I am having the same issue, contains error.
I am experiencing this as well. Logging out then logging back in does not fix the issue.
Edit:
It works properly now. Curiously did not work when there was a promo with a timer. Waited til it ran out, then it’s back to normal for me.
Thanks for the update @JitteryPineapple. We’re tracking these issues and still working to figure out what’s happening here.
Going to see if there is a correlation with the promo timer.
Getting same error. I was doing the “React” course from Bob Ziroll (logged in) and it was workin fine for few hours but after going on a break I cant resume the course and I am landing on the same blank page with the same error displayed. (Promo timer still being displayed for me the next 39 mins I might post an update if it works after that…)
UPDATE: The Promo is now gone and right in the second after it expired the course was operational again and I can resume my lessons.
I’m experiencing the same issue. Does this only affect users on the free tier, or are paid users experiencing the same problem?
If it’s an issue with the promo, I recommend removing it entirely. Respectfully, it’s not worth breaking the platform for a marketing trick like this.
Thanks for all of your hard work, I understand these things are tough to track down.
@joshnussbaum Potentially this could be it. We definitely would just can this if it’s the culprit while we fix that promo logic up. But i think this issue was present even before our promo feature being active.
From what we’ve been tracking I think it’s happening to both use groups but the errors sometimes are different which is even more confusing.
Hi, I am experiencing this issue as well. Worked well when I logged out, but the error appears when I log back in. With the error, I am able to interact with the code interface and the video audio still plays, but the video content cannot be seen.
Hey @chuavalerie, interesting… confirming, you’re getting the ‘contains’ error but only the audio and interactivity is still active?
Same here =/
No video or audio for me. Just blank pages.
@ericaraujophd could you please let me know what browser are you using?
