I am currently enrolled in the Fullstack Development Specialization offered by Scrimba on Coursera. The specialization in itself has been an excellent experience. I have learnt so much and gained tons of confidence through the genius implementation of the Scrimba plug-in that allows us to write code ourselves at any point during the presentations.
However, I have begun to encounter problems with the plug-in from the 12th course in the specialization, namely the ‘Advanced JavaScript 2: Async JS, APIs, Operators, Objects’ course.
The Scrimba plug-in fails to load when I try to progress towards the next scrim in the modules. Where there normally would be playback for a scrim, there is now just a black screen.
I have tried things like allowing 3rd party cookies, enabling JavaScript etc. but all to no avail. The failure to load seems to be random too as sometimes the scrims do get loaded but fail again when I mark an item as completed on Coursera and continue to the next scrim.
Can anyone please guide me through this? It is disrupting an otherwise wonderful experience I have been having learning through Scrimba and so would make me very sad if I have to drop this specialization mid-way to look for other resources.
It’s not one scrim or course in particular but rather the issue occurs with the ‘newer’-style scrims (the ones with more options for playback speed, captions etc.)
The older scrims, for example in the courses Learn HTML and CSS and Learn JavaScript, worked perfectly.
I see this error in the browser console when the newer-style scrims fail to load.
This behaviour in itself seems to be random.
I was able to watch the scrims I had originally posted about on the forum in the course Advanced JavaScript 2: Async JS, APIs, Operators, Objects at a later time,
but the issue has persisted towards the next course, namely Advanced JavaScript 3: Objects, Collections, Functions in the Advanced JavaScript Specialization.
