Unable to write in the terminal on Node.js course

In the Node.js course I can’t write in the terminal. I open the terminal but it doesn’t allow me to click into the terminal so that I can write in it. I also can’t use the network tab. When I press SEND it just keeps on spinning and nothing happens.

Hey @jaime91, have you clicked into the main editor to trigger the edit mode yet? I found in some cases the terminal is still in watch-only mode because I didn’t click into the editor to activate edit mode yet. You should be able to tell you’re in edit mode by the editor colour having a yellow tint.

@roku Also facing same issue with the Scrimba command-line terminal while doing “Command Line Fundamentals” section in FullStack path (also tried using the terminal by opening “New Scrim” from homepage) . Tried it on both Chrome and Edge browsers. I can enter edit mode in the .md file, but the terminal is unreponsive.

The browser console shows some error messages. “trying to write to terminal ____ without running?”

Another clue: The Runner tab says “Runner is idle”. I clicked the gear icon on the right of the runner tab, and toggled ON all the options as shown below… and also refreshed the page. But this did not solve the unresponsive terminal issue.

Hey @ddrvrat thanks for the information. On my list to debug, so checking with the team to see what’s potentially going on. Other people have reported this too.

Looping in @Tom_Chant too. Have you ran into this before, Tom?

Surprisingly, few hours later, the Scrimba terminal CLI is working A-ok!

At first I thought maybe it was thanks to the VPN extension, but even without it, it is now working for me!

Yeah I had this intermittently today. Devs are currently looking into it :crossed_fingers:

This seems to be happening in other courses as well, I am currently taking the command line fundamentals scrims and I am experiencing the same thing. Just an FYI.

I’m facing the same problem, thank you for the quick support

Must be something to do with the “/assets/webcontainer.2B7X7PJH.mjs” and “blitz.cf284e50.js” files…

I was having the same issue. Refreshing my browser seemed to fix it.

When will this be resolved? Not able to do any of the terminal related exercises in Node.

Hi, I’m running into this issue as well. Specifically in the Backend Developer Path → Command Line Interface Course. I’ve done all of the suggested debugs provided earlier in this thread and the terminal is still “disabled” for me. I’ve made sure that I am in edit mode and compared my scrim settings with others in this thread.
