I’m a windows user. I tried scrimba in chrome, firefox, microsoft edge but still facing the typing issue in the editor. I can’t type anything. When I tried scrimba in linux using virtual box, I was able type on the editor. What can I do now to use scrimba in windows without any issue?

Hm that’s device shouldn’t cause any specific issues. Can you type at all on our website or is it only in the editor?
I’m seeing something that may be similar. When it switches from video to editor the background changes color. In order to be able to interact with the editor I have to click the name of the file twice. Then I can type new code.
However, I cannot use my mouse cursor to do anything like select text. If I do that, the cursor in the window changes color from yellow to gray. At this point I can’t really do anything. Trying to highlight with the mouse does nothing and I can no longer type either. To type again, I have to click the filename at the top. Then the cursor in the window changes back to yellow and I can type.
This is in Windows using Edge.
Hey @MBC, what device are you using to run your windows?
This is an HP Sceptre x360.
For what it’s worth, I tried in Chrome and Scrimba seems to work properly in there. So I’ve got a workaround for now, but I’d rather use Edge.

Thanks for the confirmation. Edge used to work so maybe there was an update that clashes with our editor. We’re tracking compatibility issues with different browsers so we’ll keep an eye on it and see what’s going on.
I face a typing issue on the scrimba editor too . The cursor is at the wrong place.
I am at the end of the line, but it appears 3 text ahead. Very hard to do exercises with this problem.

Same problem, Opera GX, Edge, the cursor stay in the wrong place.

I am having the same issue on the Surface Studio Laptop PRO. Prior to the update I had no typing issues on the device/browser.
Hey @SIca, we currently have two editor styles on our site. One that supports full-stack and another that doesn’t. Can you share a lesson link which you can’t type in?
Maybe it’s a editor version problem. Will look into it

I just started the Fullstack Path (actually complementing the frontend path which I have already done last year in the v1 environment), but it looks like that the Terminal is not working, I can not type anything in it. I can type in the file editor, but not in the Terminal. I notice that it doesn’t even change to “active color”, it stays dim when clicking in it. I am using Win11 and tried it with Brave and Edge browsers as well. Can you help me?
Hello, I’m having the same Issue now. I’m supposed to be able to edit a code in the video, but it’s not working for me. There’s a first exercise for me here (the cake egg exercise), but I can’t do it. Pls do u know what might be wrong? I’ve used both Chrome and Microsoft Edge - same thing. I use a Hp elitebook 1030 too @roku

Hi, thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, for me its still the same, can’t type anything into the Terminal. I tested with Fullstack Path → Tools of the Trade → Rules of navigation → Exercise #1. Doesn’t worry me that much, because at least the code editor works, and I guess most exercises/challenges will make use of the code editor. Also, I can use my own Terminal in VSCode if needed, so it doesn’t seem like a big issue, just wanted to let you know about it.
Thanks for the update @lgabeli87. We’ll continue to dive into this and see what’s going on. It’s something that’s pretty critical so going we need to figure it out.
