Trouble saving work in the Full Stack Development specialization on Coursera

Hi Scrimba team,

I’m really enjoying the Full Stack Development specialization on Coursera. The lessons are engaging and the overall experience has been great so far, but I’m having some trouble with saving my work.

Whenever I move on to the next lesson, the code I wrote disappears. I did notice a “save notes” option, but it redirects me to log in on Scrimba’s own site. Since I’m taking the course through Coursera, I haven’t found any way to link my Coursera account with Scrimba.

Could you let me know the correct way to save my progress while taking the course on Coursera?

Thanks in advance.

Hey @Bilal,

Really great to hear you’re enjoying our content on Coursera! Have you created an account on our main website already? What might happen is that when you’re logged in and viewing content on Coursera it might detect your account and open the option up for you to save your work.

Could you give that a try?

  • Create an account on our main website
  • Stay logged in
  • Navigating to watch content on Coursera
  • Check if you’re able to save your code

Hi @roku. Thanks for replying. But unfortunately the issue

prevails. If I follow the ‘login to Scrimba’ link from Coursera directly, ‘Scrimba is blocked’ error occurs. And in case, I open the link in a new tab, though Scrimba works fine but nothing really happens in terms of resolution of the issue at hand. I’ve used both Firefox and Chrome.

Thanks for checking @Bilal. Looks like this is a restrictions with Coursera and how they handle our embeds. Unfortunately I don’t think there is a way to sync progress with Coursera content and our main platform as they’re treated separately. Additionally Coursera has a restriction with logging in (security restrictions on Coursera’s end).
