Hello, I have just discovered your site and tutorials and as far as I can see, it is a very good way to teach people how to code. I watched a few of your free videos. At the end of this, I decided to buy a pro membership, but the problem is that as far as I can see, the subtitles used are only in English. Do you have any plans to add new languages? Or are there browser plugins I can use? Because when I say translate the page from my browser, it also translates the codes and this is a problem. Coursera and many similar sites provide multi-language support, can you at least help with subtitles?
Hey @sunqfu, welcome to Scrimba! Glad to hear you’ve been enjoying our content. We do plan to add language support for our captions so that’s in the works. Possibly also adding in audio support for different languages too but that’s still in research.
Multi-language support is a heavily requested feature so it’s something we’re planning to put resources into.
Hi. It’s been about half a year, is there any news? approximate dates for the implementation of at least subtitles in different languages?
Hey @Vladyslav_Halakh, sorry for the lack of communication on this. I think we’re grouping this into a bigger project than originally stated since it got bigger than we scoped. If we roll multi-language support out we potentially also do audio dubbing. Also we have some tests already in place for subtitles but we’re not confident on the translation yet since it’s going to be basically active for all major languages. And we’re still testing which model is most accurate in translation.
So we’ve got progress but not close to live implementation as of yet. The developers are on another bigger project we’re trying to push out end of yet.
